Dates

  • March 30, 2026: Kickoff Event & hacking begins
  • March 1st, 2026: Deadline for team creation and Scheduling of judging time
  • April 3, 2026: Submission deadline & Judging Day
  • April 10, 2026: DSAI Symposium (winning teams present)

All project work must be completed within the hacking period (March 30 – April 3). Projects started before the kickoff are not eligible.

Eligibility

  • The hackathon is open to all students, regardless of university affiliation
  • Teams can have 1–4 members
  • Non-CU Denver students are eligible to participate and win, but physical prizes are restricted to CU Denver students only, non-CU Denver participants will receive Amazon gift cards in lieu of physical prizes
  • Participants must register on Devpost and submit before the deadline to be eligible for judging

Project and Submission Requirements

  • Projects must be built during the hackathon period, no pre-built projects
  • All projects must incorporate AI in a meaningful way
  • Projects must be submitted on Devpost with all required components (description, demo video, GitHub link, tech stack)
  • Teams are allowed to use open-source libraries, public APIs, and the provided hosted models
  • Projects must be the original work of the team, plagiarism or use of another team's code will result in disqualification
  • Teams may use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) as tools, but the project concept, design, and implementation must be the team's own
